Breakdown is a 1997 suspense thriller movie written and directed by Jonathan Mostow.Jeff Taylor (Russell) and his wife Amy are a city couple driving cross country through the American southwest to San Diego when their car suddenly breaks down in the middle of nowhere.The place is like a mini desert very dry and hot and no man in sight.Jeff is a man crazy with cars and his car has state of the art electronics embedded. Luckily (or so it seems) for them, a friendly trucker drives by and offers to help them by giving Amy a ride to the nearest diner to call for help while Jeff stays back to look after the vehicle.He gets a surprise after waiting there for some time.The car starts after he joins some wire under the engine. But when Jeff hears nothing from his wife after a really long time, he knows something is wrong and he goes off in search for his wife. He finds the trucker at the diner but strangely he claims he has never met Jeff or his wife before. Can Jeff solve the mystery and save his wife before it is too late?
