Dirty Pretty Things is a serious movie without much humor in it.It sketches the life of illegal immigrants in the golden city of London.The way they degrade themselves just to get to live in the 'wonderful' country.I strongly believe that if you make such films you are giving a wrong information about a city in your country.If a little one got a chance to see this movie.He is surely gonna carry the idea that London is the worst civilized city to live.
The main characters of this movie are two illegal immigrants Okwe (played and perfected by Chiwetel Ejiofor) and Seney (Audrey Tautou).Okwe is a Nigerian who drives a cab during the day and as front desk executive at a hotel during night.He chews some leaf (stimulant) to keep him awake.His real story is revealed later in the film that he was a doctor and a good one in Africa and the goodness has made him a wanted man there and so he is living under cover in London.He shares the apartment of Seney who is a Turkish working in the same hotel.Her dream is to go to America where her sister is living.
Okwe one day finds a human heart in the closet and he finds that in the hotel , a greater conspiracy is running in which he is a main part.A mafia is running in the hotel who provides fake passports to illegal immigrants in exchange of human body parts (like kidney).He discuss with his chinese collegue who handles garbages, dead bodies etc in the hotel.The chinese man is in charge of cleaning dead bodies collected from the hotel rooms.His room where Okwe plays chess often is a cold storage cum mortury.
The compassionate part of Okwe gets himself in to a situation where he treats immigrants operated by amateurs in the hotel.He is depicted as stealing medicines and treating a patient infected during the operation.Meanwhile Seney is hunted down by the Immigration authorities and she quits the job and join in a sweat shop.This happens at a time when love for Okwe sprouts at her heart.The owner of the sweatshop was a rascal who blackmails Seney that he will inform the immigration departments.Seney who was a true muslim and a virgin is forced to oral sex by the rascal on a regular basis.At last she bites him and run away with costly costumes from his shop.Okwe gives shelter to Seney at his friend's mortury room.After that his friend gets a key of his friends apartment.
Juan (Seri lopez), a bastard who runs the hotel threatens Okwe to perform kidney transfer operations.But good hearted Okwe refuses.Seney and Juan reaches an agreement : kidney for passport.Before that she is forced to have sex.
Knowing all this Okwe agrees to do the operation.Okwey and Seney drugs Juan and perform operation on him and deliver the kidney and takes the cash and they reaches the airport to escape from London.Eventhough they love each other, Okwe need to return home for his daughter and Seney need to go to New York city.
The movie is good for people who love drama and disturing images of human life.Not recommended for children and women.
