Shawn McArthur (Channing Tatum) is a small townboy selling counterfiet books and dvds at the streets on New York.Harvey Boarden (Terrence Howard) finds him up from the street and introduces him to places where unofficial fights takes places and betting happens for the winner. They both are symbols of failure and their teaming up becomes a hit and they make money winning their first fight.
Shawn dates a single mother Zuley (Zulay Henao) who got a grandmother who does not like Shawn and a cute kid who like Shawn.They get in to a relationship and physically involved.Shawn finds Harvey at her place and mistakes that Zuley and Harvey are in a relationship.Now Harvey clears that Zuley places bets for Harvey.
Evan Hailey (Brian White) is a professional player whom Shawn knew from childhood.A great fight gets arranged for Shawn with Evan.The price money was a hundred thousand dollars.And there is a small drama in the end with Zuley betting with money arranged by Harvey and their plan for match fixing.
Altogether it is a standard quality movie but not a must see movie.Not much excitement even with those fight sequences.You can opt for avoiding this movie.If you already have the tickets, give them to your friend.
