Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem) is a main character in this movie.He is a bad guy and his trademark weapon is captive bolt pistol.Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin) while hunting antelope in a desert finds some vehicles far away.Corpses and a dying mexican suggest that a drug deal would have gone bad.He finds 2 million dollars not far from the scene.He takes the cash and goes.Later at night in bed, his moral self asks questions.So he returns with water for the dying man.He gets identified by the mexican gangsters at the scene.From here onwards starts a saga of savage killing for money.Ed Tom Bell (Tommy Lee Jones), the local sheriff, Chigurh, mexicans and Moss hunt for each other in search of money.
Chigurh is a professional killer hired to retrieve the suitcase of money.Moss rents a room at a motel and keeps the money in the air vent and push it further down there.Mexicans chase him down to the motel.Seeing that he rents another room in the motel which happens to be located at other end of the motel.The Mexican stays in the room to get rest and to lay the returning Moss to heaven.In the suitcase of dollars, a radio transmitter is hidden.Chigurh tracks the suitcase with a suitable transmitter and tracks the room.He enters the room and kill all the Mexicans.After opening the air vent, he finds that Moss had escaped with the cash. He tracks down Moss with the help of the transmitter at another hotel.The shoot out at the hotel gets worse and blood spills and both gets injured.Moss luckily escapes to the border to Mexico and he throws the money in some bushes at the border.
Deeply injured Moss wakes in a Mexican hospital.Carson Wells (Woody Harrelson) who is another bad guy hired by the drug mafia meets Moss.He offers Moss his life for the bag of money.Returning from the hospital Wells gets killed by Chigurh at his hotel room.Moss calls Well at the hotel over phone.Chigurh picks it up and make an offer to Moss in exchange for money.The offer was that he would spare Moss's wife Carla Jean if he gets the money.He would still kill Moss even after getting the money.Moss rejects the offer in anger.
Moss calls Carla and ask her to reach El Paso for her safety.Carla sees Bell at the El Paco hotel and hears from him that Moss was killed in a shootout with the Mexicans.Bell returns to Moss's hotel room and finds the door lock blown away.He finds the removed air vent there.Even though Chigurh is hiding in the same room,there does not happen a shootout between tham and Bell retires.
Later perverted Chigurh tracks Carla at her mother's home and waits there.He tells Carla about the offer he made to Moss and says he may reconsider it and can give her a coin flip opportunity.Same opportunity was given to a man earlier in the movie.The coin side would make the decision for Chigurh's captive bolt piston to kill or not.Carla doesn't make a call and Chigurh is shown getting out of the room polishing his shoes.He gets injured in an accident when his cars get collided with another one.He gets out of the car deeply injured and escapes the scene before police reaches there.
The movie ends with calm scenes conversations of retired police officer Bell and his wife.In this movie the money gets lesser importance at one instant of the movie.The film does not care to show the details of who gets the money.This movie is not recommended for children as lots of violence scenes are involved.This R rated movie would be appreciated well by men.But it is sure that ladies would find it very boring.
