Sliding Doors in a 1998 romantic drama that follows a parallel path from two instances of a womans like.Her life at two timelines are shown alternatively so you got to see the full movie to understand about it.Her hair is shortened in the second time line for reference.If such a thing has not been incorporated we would have gone nuts seeing this.

Helen Quilley (Gwyneth Paltrow) is a stressed out women after getting fired from her PR job.She supports her boyfriend Gerry (John Lynch) who was supposed to write a novel while she works.Gerry cannot forget his ex-girl friend Lydia (Jeanne Tripplehorn).She takes up the job as a waitress and sandwitch delivery girl to support Gerry.Lydia insults her when delivering sandwitch which seems to be ironical.After much doubts, she confirms his affair when she sees it herself.She learns that Lydia is pregnant.

Gerry loves Helen but he is unable to practise monogamy.He got his mate Russell (Douglas McFerran) who advises him on his personal life.Lydia is an arrogant woman who is keen to take a dig on Helen whenever she can.Helen moves out to her friend Anna's place and doesn't tell Gerry that she was pregnant.She gets in to an accident and loses the child.She meets a man named James (John Hannah) and when she begins to be happy with her.He inspires her to live happily and start her own PR firm.Jerry comes and beg her to come back.Reluctantly she goes to Gerry's place and again she walks out when she finds Lydia calling again on phone.

She reaches out for James and they are happy again.Then she finds James with his wife at a hospital, she decides not to tell James that she was pregnant with his child.Now James convinces her that he and his wife are seperated and they are just acting in front of his dying mother at the hospital.When we all expect a happy ending a car hits her and at the hospital James is told by the Doctor that the kid is lost and later she dies in James's arms.
