Crazy Gopalan is a comedy malayalam movie released in December 2008.Kattila Gopalan (Dileep) is a nightmare to the 'Oonjaladi' village.Noone in the village has seen him.He is a legend there.He steals 'kattila's from the village and leaves a note there informing his hand behind it.Soon Harishchandran (Harishree Asokan), a carpenter sees Gopalan.So gopalan is forced to flee from the village.
At the city, like all say, birds of same feather flock together.Gopalan meets Lakshmanan (Salim Kumar) who was another small thief in the city,.Then come some scenes where Salim Kumar is given some emotional shots, mainly crying and all.His helpness in not becoming a thief is proclaimed there.Lakshmanan wants big money for treatment of his ailing mother.Gopalan wants to buyback his house confiscicated by his father's creditors.
Now HarishChandran gets beating at Oonjaladi for him being percieved as gopalan by the public.And in the movie there are many instances showing Harishchandran being caught by the law for mischiefs done by gopalan.Diana (Radha Varma) and her brother Babu John (Manoj K. Jayan) enters the life of Gopalan and Lakshmanan and doomsday begins for them.They get framed for a breakin at a Bank where they are filmed in the Security cam while Babu John takes all the stolen money.
Babu John is a smiling villian and Manoj has acted well in that role.Lakshmanan is shot dead and Gopalan becomes a wanted criminal in Kerala.He escapes somehow from Babu John and takes refuge with Lavang Vasu (Jagathy Sreekumar) who rescues him from the beach.Lavang is another thief in the city.
With Lavang as accomplice, Gopalan breaks in at Babu John's bank and starts his revenge to Babu John.He add Diana who is on a run for her life afraid of Babu John.Now Vinod abraham (Biju Menon) is an intelligent police officer who tries to catch Gopalan.Gopalan is shown as fooling the court and eloping from there which is not believable.
Gopalan is a macho theif and he defeats all those who approach him by his physique.He has good running, firing and stealing skills.He can run on roof tops can do spiderman tricks and can jump from the third floor to the ground without breaking his back.
At the end of the movie, he is relieved of all his sins and he gets all the money.And another criminal is born.Harishchandran who gets wrongly convicted for all crimes gopalan has done now starts gopalan acts on Oonjaladi leaving gopalan notes.
Altogether it is an entertainment film.
