ImageHallo is a 2007 Mohanlal comedy film.Like all malayalam films this is also a hero centric film. But this movie can be observed as one in which mohanlal has done good comedy in the recent times. The actor had a problem with dialogue presentation for some time.Last ten years he was using "language on print" throughout his movies. At least in this movie he presented a normal one that people use in reality. This does not mean hallo is a movie to avoid. In fact keralabox.com is reviewing it because it is an excellent movie and is worth watching.

Released in July 5 2007, "hallo" is directed by Rafi Mecartin. It is a full length comedy movie mad especially for mallus. The title suggest about the use of mobile phones in the film.Shivaraman the hero meets the girl through a phone call. There are many comedy scenes of mobile ringtones of different charactors. "Hallelujah" of jagathy as Chandy Kunju ,Sivaraman's friend

"Phone Edukkada" of Ganeshkumar , Mohanlal's brother in the movie

Movie depicts mohanlal as a young dunkard lawyer who prefers to booze all the time rather that argue in court. The role is worked out well by him.Jagathy Sreekumar acts as Chandy Kunju, his dearest friend and it is his duty to save Shivaraman from troubles and deliver him at home in a bike specially designed for the purpose.Strangely, that doesn't diminish Shivaraman's public relation skills. After one particularly bad fight, he ends up becoming good buddies with three notorious rowdies in the area- Vadakkanchery Vakkan, Batherry Babu and Pattambi Ravi, played respectively by Spatikam George, Bheeman Raghu and Kirikadan Jose. Soon, they too join his gang of loyalists.

Later it is known that he was once in love with a girl Priya and the death of her has led him to this stage.

Then one day, he receives a phone call on his mobile phone from a stranger named Parvathi. She reveals that she is the daughter of a local Marwari banker. On the phone she tells him that her life is in grave danger and begs him to rescue her. The phone call changes his life...

Parvati is played by model Parvati Melton. Parvathi is the daughter of Bada Bhai, the owner of a very successful marvari bank. Madhu plays this role. The bank is jointly owned by him and his brothers and relatives. They want to take control of the bank by killing Parvathi. When Shivaraman finds out that the threat is from her family, he takes her home and pretends to be her husband.

Then begins the battle of wits and muscles with her greedy relatives. Slowly, Parvathi gets impressed by his brilliance and ends up falling in love with him.

The story also looks like it was influenced by lots of films from India and abroad.I remember viewing something similiar in some english movie regarding the scene where Parvati makes a call from a broken telephone by shorting points in the telephone keypad board. But then, Mohanlal is a treat to watch as the drunk advocate. The whole the team supports him very well with the story and comedy timing.

Parvathy Melton, the US-based model who makes her Malayalam debut with this film looks gorgeous. She emotes well enough too. Technically, the film is very neat.Rafi-Mecartin have a good grip on the audience's way of thinking. Music is also good. Kerala Box is rating this movie 6.0 out of 10.0 point. We can wait for the DVD and CD versions to release.
