Thirakatha was rumoured to the story of Srividya as it show resemblence of her cancer treatment and Kamal visiting her.May be the movie maker used this resemblence to create a buzz and to draw people to watch the movie.Akku Ahamed (Prithviraj) is a new director fresh after his first film being a hit.He being a different man was running a cafeteria named 'Casablanca' with his friends who also happen to be his film crew.He was taking his time for his second movie even after getting many offers.He planned to make a movie on the life of Malavika, a heroine of the 80s.
The movie shows his experience for the research he makes to make the movie.Soon he realised that he cannot make the life of the malavika with whom he makes a bond with.He arranges money for providing good treatment for Malavika who was then a bankrupt star undergoing treatment for cancer.
Ajay Chandran (Anoop) is a superstar in malayalam film industry.He made debut as a villain in the same film in which Malavika was the heroine.They fell in live during the filming and eventually gets married.However the couple breakup due to a misunderstanding.Utlimately this gets clear at the climax and Malavika dies in the hands of Ajay Chandran.
Anoop has acted well and showed subtle mannerism of the person before and after stardom.Priyamani plays Malavika and acted well.But it is difficult for such a person to act as a 50 year old without good makeup.The makeup was not up to the mark.
It is not an entertainer but definitely not a bad movie.Recommended for those who like offbeat stuff.
